Requesting Service History from Toyota Dealer?

Hi all,

A while back now when I purchased our 120 the previous owner didn't have all the service receipts for the log book servicing. The log book showed it had been serviced by Toyota nearly its whole life. He also told me he had the timing belt done and the injectors. I know the timing belt has been done because I can see the sticker under bonnet, but the injectors I have no proof. This was at 198km.

When I got the car I called the Dealer he had been servicing it with and asked for the history though they didn't seem that interested to help. (probably because they knew I was 5 hours away and wont be bringing to them for services.)

Question now is, at 230km, can I press this a little harder, and do other Dealers have access to the history on some central system, or are the records at that dealer only? I would be keen to see if it has details about the work done on the injectors.

You should be able to go to any dealer to get the history, whether they give it to you will depend on them.

Can't you register your vehicle on the toyota/owners website (you need your VIN, so that identifies your car) and it then shows you the service history done by Toyota ? I have my Prado on there (I am the original owner) and when I login I can see all the services that were done.

Unfortunately after reading into it, looks like its only for 09 onwards. Ours is a 07.

When you call the dealership just ask when you should expect the email. Then when that times frame's gone, just call again, and again.... Keep records of when you called to follow-up to strengthen your case each time if they're blowing you off. You'll get it eventually. They should even be able to dig it up and email it (or scan and email) while you're on the phone to them. They'd be extremely busy with the phone ringing non-stop and people coming in one after the other, but surely they can do it while you're on the phone and they're just concentrating on you at that moment.
