  • Change of domain name to pradopoint.com.au & site updates

I have decided to change the domain to the .com.au version for the moment.

You may need to clear your cookies and re-enter your password if you are having issues logging in.

Over the coming weeks I will also be rolling out the latest release of this forum software.

It's quite a bit different and has a number of advantages moving forward including security.

Now all those with pradopoint.com car stickers will also have to change...

Will Admin be updating their forum layout page? Interestingly it still refers to Pradopoint.com

No worries. Will this solve the error with the reduction you get sometimes?

The redirects will mean that the .com will go to the .com.au -> car stickers will still be relevant.

        @rackxp - reduction?

As above. Many web sites have a .com or .whatever redirecting to the main site wherever it is in www. land.

Stickers and paraphernalia out there are and will still be relevant.

It's tricky but i was able to replicate that, i had to use an Opera useragent, delete domain cookies (bb_lastvisit, bb_sessionhash etc) and set the referrer to Google when loading the Pradopoint homepage.

I just tried it again and it's not happening, i guess that's due to the pradopoint.com domain is dropping cookies when doing the 301 redirect, so when landing on pradopoint.com.au there's already session cookies set so it doesnt satisfy the no cookies condition to trigger the malware redirect.

Thanks very much for your efforts in getting this updated.

I run a few website and know the amount of time and effort that goes into it.

Most interested in the security updates.

Yes, I think your on the money and he meant redirection. I've been testing this as well and it seems its solved (For the moment as we all know never speak too soon)....

Sorry was meant to be redirection to a file sharing site.

I don't know what you just said but the new site address has stopped this issue for me.

                      Hi Admin,
Just noticed the links in the "Technical Links & Members Rigs" are not working. I guessing something to do with the Domain change!

                      Regards

                          Hi Pedro

I'm getting the same message from Firefox. I'm typing this in Chrome so it must be a Forefox issue.

This isn't a problem as such, it's just a new feature FireFox have added to let you know the site you are logging in to doesnt have "https". If you ever get this warning on sites where you are making a transaction like banking, entering credit cards, PayPal etc then somethings wrong i wouldnt login without doing some further checks.

With a site like PradoPoint it's not really an issue, the site doesnt store your banking or other personal information and the payment for an upgraded membership is handled by PayPal which do have a https login.

On that note, is there a plan to move the site to SSL (https) perhaps?
