  • Ironman foamcell pros

    Has any one put the new ironman foam cell pro's in their prado yet? A mate has them in his dmax and loves them.
    Also best spring to suit the new 2.8 with ARB bar, winch and dual batterys?

    Hey Samo,

    I run custom valved Ironman Pros in the rear, and I'm currently having custom valved front struts built!

    See here for my rear shock build;

    http://www.pradopoint.com.au/showthr...the-Prado-rear

    The Pros are an awesome bit of gear, I'm very happy with how they've performed!

    I'd take a squiz at the KTFR-101HD, or the HDT tapered coil for the front.

      Thats a good read mate, very insightful👍. I will definitely be giving Kristian a call tomorrow.
      I have been told to steer clear from king springs from certain companies as they are being manufactured overseas now?

        Hey Samo,

        Whoever told you to clear steer of King coils must work for a competitor!?

        King coils are manufactured 100% at their facility on the Gold Coast;

        http://kingsprings.com.au/product/manufacturing

        They use German made X5K micro-alloy steel.

          Hiya Samo.

          I have had a lot to do with Kings over the years & can assure you their Springs are 100% Australian Made using only the best X5K Spring Steel available.
          You would be suprised to know who else's Springs they make in the background for them too.
          Once upon a time Kings used to make nearly all the aftermarket Springs for 4WD use for nearly all of the Companies out there selling Suspension kits, barring Dobinsons and Lovells of course.
          If the truth is to be known, it is those other Companies that took their Spring Manufacturing offshore to save a buck!!
          Kings Still make a selected few part numbers for a couple of the Big (Supposed Aussie) 3 letter named 4WD Suspension and Accessories stores out there, but a fair share of their stuff is now made overseas.
          The quality difference between the Steel Kings use and all the rest??
          Kings are the only Company that will back their product with a Lifetime Warranty against Sagging, so that should say something.

          Don't get me wrong, i'm not entirely devoted to running or using Kings. I use all brands available to me, i just wanted to clear the air on the myth of whose gear is being made offshore.

          Regards, Jay.

            Wow I did not know that. I have King springs fitted all round from TJM in 2012. So going by what you're saying, I should never need to replace the springs, like ever. Only the shocks. They are a very good spring I must say.

              Honestly Brett, if you have no problems with them, they can stay there literally forever.

                  Hey Samo,

                  If you can hang on for a little while, I'll have the front struts sorted soon. I'll then offer a group buy to PP members for custom valved Ironman Pros for the Prado!
