There the only company to this day that I will not deal with
I had issues with one of there products years ago and i thought there approach was unacceptable

Such a shame as I would have definetly considered them for my 150 suspension

      Hey Phs,

That's unfortunate, it happens. As someone who lives and breathes suspension these days, I've had plenty of bad experiences with a lot of suspension companies, including the big boys and the little boys. I'm lucky that I approach suspension from the technical perspective of a physicist, and I can quickly shut down any nonsense or sales dribble.

While I can't defend Ironman for how they've treated you in the past, I can tell you without ambiguity that their chief shock builder Kristian is brilliant to deal with, sincere, honest and extremely helpful, and is very interested in making the best shocks we can.

The group buy on these struts and shocks is something that I decided to do for Pradopointers, and is not a decision taken by Ironman. The valving has been designed by me, every strut and shock will be built by me. I will be absorbing the cost of revalving everything myself, and still selling at under retail prices. I could have done this with monotubes, but I didn't because big bore hydraulics are brilliant, and Ironman has been great to deal with.

It's my reputation at stake, and if someone purchases and doesn't like the setup for whatever reason, then I have to cop it here on Pradopoint.

Anyone in Brisbane who wants to drive my Prado is welcome to come and try it to see how it feels.

Sounds good to me. I am aware of the ride handling compromise and I always go towards the handling. These do sound like what I am after. Neil

So adds 3.2kg to total Prado weight compared to MRRs and about 15kg for billie shocks.

            Hey Mark
Ill take you up on this offer if you dont mind
I have not been 100% happy with my Bilstein/kings travel on front is average and tops out a bit.

Would be good to do a compare between cars to see how different proper valving will make.

            I've sent you a pm

              Hey,

The best thing about that extra weight is all the extra oil you get!

Thanks Mark. I do like the warranty on the King springs so now I just need to work out which ones will suit.

I'm watching this thread closely as I'm in need of an upgrade of my incompatible and pretty tired 712/713 Bilstein setup on my Grande. With a Red Centre/Simmo trip planned for the 2018 season, I'll need a reliable setup. Whilst I love my Grande airbagman setup in the rear of the Prado, I will most likely replace the airbags with the amts coil conversion for the trip but reinstall the airbags on my return.

                        Hey Craig,

                          Hey,

When I was at Fraser in January testing the rear shocks, it was 45C in the shade and sand temps were 60C! My D563's on the front got to 50C and my custom rear Ironman Pros got to 60C after a couple of hard hours up the Island and across the new track north of Wathumba Creek. I pushed pretty hard in these conditions and my new DC 679 transmission cooler was only just coping hitting 93C. My rear was packed right up, so not bad that the rears only got 10C hotter than the monotubes in the lighter front end!

Looks like I need to go do the Finke race course to really punish them!

You're in luck, Mark. Seems to be some type of 4wd outing happening on 9 June.

                                Hey Mark,

Do the Foamcell Pros come with an adjuster to sort the ride height at the front, or do we have to add this fancy looking tool you showed:

If so, does it cost much?
