  • Bfg ko2 275/65r17

Hi All, I am about to finalise the deal on a run out 2016 GXL. Just planning on which tyres to get fitted prior to delivery and want to know if anyone has fitted BFG KO2 in 275/65R17 to share some feedback?
I am looking at these over the 265/70R17 because the handbreak wants the spare cover on. I saw in a thread that the cover does fit over these but has anyone who is running them got any feedback on rubbing/control arm clearance etc?

Great site too, hope to share more once I get the new rig!

    Hi,

Just fitted the same tyre and size last week and gave them a good workout this weekend both on-road and off.
    I have OME 50mm lift.
    1. They fit the spare cover without any issues.
    2. I checked after our trip and did not notice any rubbing or touching anywhere (could not hear it touching while driving either)

Thanks martinpsa, good to know they fit the spare cover. Have to keep the wife happy.
How did they perform off-road out of interest? I have had Cooper ST previously but first time for the BFG's.

I am also getting a OME 50mm lift.

      Thanks for the info.

I don't really have anything other than the original tyres to compare to, but they did very well, from rocks, mud and beach driving - there is no damage to them after the trip. The combination of the new suspension and the tyres makes for a very good drive and I can go into corners with much more confidence than before.

I have BFG 275 65 on my Prado. I have the KO series but i doubt size is any different. I had the tyres fitted before I lifted the car and they did not scrap then and don't scrap now. The tyre cover will fit but is tight. Mine is now removed and looks heaps better. I do 5 tyre rotation every 10k service and so far done 50k's without issue on BFG's. I imagine KO2's will only be better.

Hi zacaxel I'm about to get a run out 2016 also. i'm interested to know whether they offered you a discount off the BFGs for taking the original tyres on the car, did you do some sort of deal on them?

No not really. I found a price of $328 per tyre online (tyre centre I think). The Bob Jane over the road from the dealership matched that price. I collected the old tyres as they only had <10km on them, just going across the road to be swapped, and sold them on gumtree for $500. So that brought my per tyre price after selling the old ones down to $228 each which I was thrilled with. Neither Bob Jane nor the dealership would purchase the old tyres.

The BFG fit on the car with no rubbing anywhere and also fits under the spare wheel cover with no problem.

                Hope this info helps.
