Ok guys in the know, maybe I have just over saturated my self with the threads about engine failure, egr valves and so on. What are steps I should take to try and make this engine last and run smoothly, don't really have the cash to replace it, to be honest if it failed and was gonna cost over $20000 I would consider an ls conversion.

Change oil, air & fuel filters regularly as required.
Injector replacement due at 120k, then you will have fresh full DLC genuine DENSO injectors.
Full diagnostics every service.

What is the rough price for a set of injectors.
From reading around on this forum the 3 places I've heard mentioned are:
- United https://www.unitedfuel.com.au/
- Allied http://www.allieddieselwa.com.au/services
- A1 Diesel http://www.a1diesel.com.au/location.php
I think DLC stands for diamond like coating and a rough price for a set of injectors fitted is around $2,500

Wooo....... that's a bit, what does blueprint mean, I see that baileys say theirs are blueprinted but I think they are reconditioned, does that make any difference. Lift kit and exhaust might have to go on hold if that's what injectors cost cause they more important, I heard united is supposed to be good will give them a call tomorrow and ask about replacing and if they can do a diagnosis of how they are, if they need replacing yet.I have heard of them failing under 100k and others lasting up around 200k, so not really sure of what to do.Last edited by ryzee; 23-03-2017, 10:09 PM.

DLC is a coating which is hard & slippery. Which equals long life!
