  • Kakadu front parking sensors in heavy rain

    Hi,

Just noticed today while at the lights in heavy rain the front parking sensors started going off for no reason is this a known issue or is it due to the Bullbar ?

I noticed once the bull bar went on it gets to the solid squeal with about 600mm to go when parking in my garage fairly sure prior it was about half that ( 300mm )

I had same problem with mine. After heavy rain left side one start playing but next morning they were good. So didn't bother me to go in deep.

Mine has done it also after heavy rain. Just turn the parking sensors off via the steering wheel controls if it bugs you too much

Kakadu front parking sensors in heavy rain

I have a GXL and one of the rear ones has done the same thing twice after the vehicle had been sitting in heavy rain for a long period. Once it dried out the alarm went off. All connectors ect look ok. I put it down to moisture getting into the sensor itself.

Non toyota front sensors, do it all the time when raining. Just turn the things off!
D4D. How long will it last?

I have ARB bullbar installed on my Kakadu. The left front sensor started beeping in heavy rain pretty much the next day I took the car out of the shop. I switched it off, and a day later when I switched it back on the sensor was ok. However, in the last couple of months it comes on and off at will. I keep it off for a few days and then it's ok, until the next time. Because the problem is intermittent Toyota makes a stupid face and says, we checked your sensors, they are all fine...

Make video, then it becomes proof, something they do not have to replicate. It is right there for them to see. Make them look stupid if they cannot replicate, always say it happens intermittently. Just a way to deal with some of incompetence out there.

If I recall correctly it might be the hole around the sensor being a bit tight. Mine goes off in heavy rain too but I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. I'm fairly certain I have factory sensors with my Prado being a Kakadu.
