Hi all,
This is my first post on Pradopoint. I have just bought a stock 2011 Kakadu & thought I would share my first impressions of it.
Picked the car up on Friday was immediately in love with the way it drove on the road & all of the gadgets gave me hours of enjoyment playing with them. Our last car was a 2005 Navara so it was a bit of a trade up.
On Saturday I decided it needed black rims so I ordered a set of 17" Boss off-road wheels with 265/70r17 BFG KO2's just have to wait 2 weeks for delivery.
Today we went for a bit of a cruise at a local spot with a few sand dunes & a bit of beach & rock driving, this was my opportunity to try out all of the electronic 4x4 accessories & I was very impressed. I have done the same tracks in my Navara & was constantly bogged & getting pulled out by my mates 80 series while he laughed & told me to buy a real car.
The Prado handled everything we threw at it & easily kept up with my mates very capable 80, what I loved the most was Crawl control, it is awesome!! By the end of the day we were trying to get as bogged as possible just to see if it would crawl out & it did every time even when buried up to the diffs in loose sand.
So as you can tell I am so far very happy with my new toy.
Future plans are Powerful 4x4 sliders. Underbody protection. Bull bar(Rhino 4x4)
Let the modifications begin.
