  • Cruise control not engaging

Cruise control not engaging on my 2011 GX Prado.

Any ideas what this could be? I can't find a fuse for the cruise control. The tail light indicator warning light is on so maybe this has something to do with it?

Have you fitted a Windbooster or siminlar?

This may be a really stupid question but Ill ask it anyway, is it an auto and have you got it in manual shift mode?

The fact you have a tail light warning on is probably something to do with it.

The tail light warning is a green light though so that doesn't mean an error does it?

Is it usually on? If not then it's probably trying to tell you something?
Did cruise work with that light on before? Or off ?

If you have a trailer brake controller check it is working. Ours failed and cruise would not work.

We had a brake light bulb blown once and the cruise didn't work

It is the "tail light indicator light" on page 9 of this document: https://toyotamanuals.com.au/docs/la...jul-07-aug-09/

I have checked all the fuses and the brake lights seem to be working fine.

It seems it is a common thing so maybe the light is supposed to always be on, see this thread: http://www.pradopoint.com.au/archive...p/t-30339.html

I guess this means the dash light doesn't have anything to do with the cruise control not working.

That light is the tail /Parker lights indicator. Comes on with your lights.

                            Check your fuses and bulbs.

Get a code reader plugged in that can do full checks.
That will test the cruise buttons and operation.

The tail light indicator light stays on even when the lights are off though. Fuses and bulbs are all fine so will have to get a code reader I guess. Cheers
