An update on this. I ended up buying a 4wdsupacentre single drawer and mounted it in the back WITHOUT removing the seats... was fairly surprised at how easy it was to do.
Under the cover that sits at the very back of the cargo area (behind where the seats are) I found there was a metal support with holes along it. This was almost inline with where the crossbar on the drawers sat. By moving the crossbar on the drawers about an inch closer to the front (and drilling 2 new holes for the bearings that were in that spot), this bar lined up perfectly.
I then drilled 2 holes in that piece of carpet in the back for the bolts (that I might ad you can hardly see when the bolts are out, so no major changes to the cargo area), I was able to mount the front of the drawers to that area.
Next, the rear of the drawers I was able to line up the bar with the child restraint anchor on the back of the chair for the rear left side (bolted into the same point the anchor bolts into, so no new holes), the only issue was bolting down the rear right hand side... From Bunnings I bought some "wire rope" similar to what you would use on balconies with eyelets, and a steel turnbuckle to fashion up a way to hold that corner down. A pic would be the only way to describe what I have done here - but using this I have mounted that into the same bolt that holds the seats in using a brackets and the existing bolt. The drawers are very solid and don't move around.
My only concern is that rear right hand side, I need to think of a better way to hold that drawer in for major accidents... the other 3 points are fine, but for a perfect solution that rear right hand side probably should be stronger (example might be in a rollover situation).
I can post pics if anyone is interested, but just thought I would share the very cheap solution I found. Total cost = less than $300.00
A wing on that left hand side would be nice, but it sits and looks fine without them. Can still use the rear right hand seat, can still fit my surfboards in and now have something to hold my daily shit and somewhere to mount the fridge - so pretty satisfied with the solution.
