No, but I thought it's a nice way to help look after the motor

If you are ever approaching the limits of the oil's specs then I suspect you are inflicting GBH on your cylinder head, so I would be more worried about the cracked head than the lubrication. If you use a good 15W40 oil (DELO400, SUPER RX etc) I would not be concerned. If you want to keep an eye on oil temps then fit a coolant temp sensor in the radiator outlet hose from the head. Your stock oil cooler is actually cooled by the engine coolant, so there is a correlation between oil temp and coolant temp. After towing a 2T van up a range somewhere you can see the eng oil pressure recover from about 10psi back to 15 or so as the radiator removes the heat and comes back from high 90's to mid 80's or below.
        cheers
        Steve

I don't suspect I have any issue, do it's not a band aid to fix a problem.

I just thought it would be nice to install just to look after the motor better.

Seems like it's s pointless thing to do by the looks of it

If you want to stick an oil cooler on something, fit one in the auto or the power steering circuit. I put one on the PS years ago and the black shitey fluid that I replaced has stayed in top condition. It has even allowed a cheap fleabay Chinese PS rack to last for the same amount of time due to nice, cool, clean fluid keeping the seals in good nick. Must get around to rebuilding the original one day!

Yep same here, I plumbed mine through the auto trans cooler in my radiator and fitted a magnafine filter. Stays clean and red now not black and cooked.

Yeah, forgot to mention the Magnefine. A good mate put me on to the idea, he has seen rally cars blow the fluid out when they overheated the PS. Before the fluid would be black within 20thoukms, now it has done about 60K and looks like new!
