5 rapid beeps coming from my Prado - what does it mean?

Hey guys,

I've recently purchased a new to me 2012 model Prado GX turbo diesel. I've noticed a strange beep alert that occurs. It is 5 rapid beep sounds (I'm pretty sure it is 5 - the total sequence occurs within one to two seconds). It seems to be fairly repeatable - I start the car, go down the road which is on a downhill, then turn into a sharp left corner. There is a raised part in the road that is a bit of a bump so it makes for a bit of a bumpy ride and as I run over it I get the 5 rapid beeps coming out from somewhere in or under the dash - kind of sounds like a phone ringtone almost or an intercom paging signal. Also I've noticed at the same time a buzz noise like a pump sound coming from under the floor and I can actually feel a vibration either on the heel of my foot or coming through the accelerator pedal - again, this only lasts one to two seconds if that.

Any ideas on what this could be? I've looked through the user manual and it is not really giving me any clues.

5 rapid beeps coming from my Prado - what does it mean?

Is the car lifted? Does it have VSC on the GX ?
It sounds like what mine does when I occasionally go thru a corner and the body moves a bit and unweights a tyre. It then thinks it's got wheelspin or traction issues and applies a brake to said lightened wheel. Dash gives out beeps as well.
Brake pedal pulses and Abs / Traction pump makes noise above where the brake pedal is.

Is put money in this is what yours is doing.
Try driving over same section of road slower or miss the bumps if possible. See if it changes.

Does it do it anywhere else? Other roads?

I have one spot in particular on my regular drive that it does it pretty well 80% of the time. Without fail. Even to a point I subconsciously make the Bzt bzt bzt and beeping noise in my head just before I get to it. (Weirdo).. 😑

Agreed - its your traction control activating as it senses the yaw and potential for wheel slip.

Thanks 120D4D and Piggy. Yes the car is lifted and I've checked and it does have VSC so that has to be it. Funny thing is that before posting here I had tried to reproduce it and every time I went around that corner waiting for it to happen it wouldn't. Then whenever I didn't think about it it would happen. So I must have been slowing down and driving more carefully when listening for it !!

Glad nothing is going wrong as this is my new favourite car :-)

Hi guys, I have the same beeping but only when I insert the key and turn it (not starting the engine yet).
Beeps 5 times and turns off. After this I start my car normally.

I bought this car 6 years ago and it's doing it since the day one.
