    Hi Phs,

Thanks for the info, i sent to my local ARB today and they don't even question anything and just give me a quote. I think they do know it is possible but it is not something that they willing to do for some reason. He has quoted me for $5k include the Airbag man - aribag.

Now is decision time and if it is worth to spend $5k for it. If you could choose, will you still choose BP51?

    Thanks.

      Ditto, Thanks Phs,

I spoke to AirBag Man yesterday and was quoted $895 for the rear airbags (always in stock).
He said this will suit a 2" lift (2" lift front shocks and coils, 2" lift rear shocks). So now I need to decide on what brand.
I am more inclined to go with what works and what is tried and tested.
I am finding it hard to believe it costs $5k for a lift? What is the breakdown of costs? Considering that the rear airbags are $895, the shocks and coils shouldn't be north of $2k...(even for top level) should they? Are we seriously talking over $2k for fitting/labour? If so, someone is cashing in on the "unknown" of what a "Kakadu Lift" appears to be?

ATMS, correct me if I am wrong, but I was quoted $1535 (parts only) from Auto Parts Co for a 2" Bilstein Lift (including custom rear coils) - No airbags. Has this been fully tested?

The custom rear coils have been fitted to a Kakadu owner in the Gold Coast. He is happy with it so far.

          Hi Guys,

Yup fairly sure I was the first one so maybe they passed the feedback on
Is it worth 5k ? I weighed up my options the fox racing kit was going to about 3900 installed the MMR Dobinsons was a little cheaper again, I won't deal with ironman so they were out, and I don't think any of them really are in the same class the BP51s are a well built shock front ride height is adjustable 50mm boar remote res that are also adjustable on compression and rebound.

Considering the cars cost I was nt going to try and save 1000 - 1500 on cheaper gear, it is something that gets used every time you jump in the car, in all honesty it rides great on and off road. I also would not part with the Airbag rear it's great you load up it still maintains the ride hight, in areas that require high clearance you can set to high mode and gain more lift. I know some are not fans for reliability but can't say I have read many people having issues

I am of the same thinking. Thanks for all the feedback and info. I will be trying to do as you have done.

Ok, Just spoke to ARB and got a break down on the pricing:

              Front:
              BP5190002R - $945 each
              BP5190004L - $945 each

              Rear:
              BP5160025 - $645 each
Rear AirbagMan Airbags - $895 (fitting approx $200)

              Fitting: $440 + Wheel Alignment (>$100)

              Total: Approx $4815

So really only $640 approx for fitting. So majority is parts cost.

                Hi ephesiangts,

I wasn't sure we are allow to post the breakdown price for anything on this post. I have compared to your quote which is very close to dollars. It is only about $50 bucks diff.

                Hi Phs,

I am agreed with you that since we have paid the top dollars for the car, the different of $1500 doesn't really make much different.

                Thanks guys.

                  SamOME,

I wast aware of that, oops! But it makes no difference as each place is different and its not a written quote.
I was just curious to see if kakadu owners were being ripped at fitting but it appears not, just high end parts cost.

FYI, The ARB rep I spoke to said the guy in Melbourne at ARB who is a guru, is a smart cookie and would def know how to do it.....

                    Just food for thought,

Dealing with a company that will supply And install the kit is definetly a good way to insure you will get what you want and a genuine warranty
Which brings me to the next point dealing with a company that can back there product.

After my Fox racing kit instal fell though I was somewhat happy about it, it took 8 weeks to get here and was A painful process every step of the way I'd hate to think the dramas I would have if things went wrong after it was installed.
I also contemplated a KINGS kit but they could not supply a " kit " just asked me to order what was needed they also could nt put me onto any one willing to install it for me in vic.

Even after the fact I really don't think there is any better option avalible for the Kakadu unless you are willing to do it your self and use kings or Icon

                        Hi Phs,

A quick question, when they fit the new rear shock and disconnect the electronics does this bring up any alarms at all?

                        Thanks

It won't bring up any noticeable alarms. However there will be 4 error codes in history when a code scanner is attached. ( not that these cause any issue with anything overall).

                              Hi Pete,

As stated above not that I have checked but there should be a code saying the shock is missing or disconnected.

From a drivers prospective nothing changes no light or alarms on the dash

I am having an issue but can't find much talk on it, my Air bag ride height Is out of whack left to right and am struggling to get info on what the issue could be or what components are involved in the L to R leveling except the sensors that pick up on the rear control arms.
It usually is 10-20mm to the drivers side but is inconsistent. And that said some have worse results factory Std

                                Hi Guys,

                                Thanks for this info.

Phs Mine has done that from new before i start with the suspension and Toyota dont have a fix is what they tell me??

If its within 20mm thats acceptable in their opinion. I was hoping the suspension may help a little?? Will keep you posted if i find out further information.

                                Cheers
