^ That is a fairly Std line from Toyota with most issues

Just spent an hour under the car playing with the sensors and I'm none the wiser, seeing as packing the drivers side further did not much, I lowered the passanger side sensor And it lowered both sides but maintained a 15mm lean to the drivers side they must be linked as one " overall " hight, that's the way it looks to me after adjusting 1 side at a time. Either that or the drivers side is the head light adjustor and the passager side is the hight which leaves no L to R adjustment

Next step view the air suspension through tech stream and see if there this is any way to compensate L to R

      Hi guys,

First time posting on this site.
However I have been in the same predicament with a 2inch lift for my 2013 Prado kakadu facelift.

Now after a lot of research and contacting suspension guys in perth. Kings springs have recently bought out a conversion spring which replaces the airbags in the rear.

I have had this installed and works a treat! Also got coiltite airbags fitted for when towing.

I just wanted know what measurements you were getting from centre hub to wheel arch after a 2inch lift was fitted?

          Hi Phs,

Had mine fitted up today using the same, at this stage it sits at 800 at the front and 805 at the rear and a 5mm lean to the right. they are looking at re adjusting this after it settles in.

Must say i was pretty happy with the ride today on the way home. Will keep you posted.

            Hi pete,

Good to hear your happy, I did soften the settings a little from where the shop set them and love the ride steers well around corners and is smooth over the rough stuff, our rear was also on the low side after install I found after re fuelling scrolling through hight settings would bring it up then as fuel lessens it will continue to gain some hight.

The one thing to remember is always scroll through the hight settings once you have added substantial weight as it will bring it back up

I also found the ride continued to improved after a few thousand Ks.
It definetly will be good to hear your long term thoughts

Thanks for the info PHS, this is interesting, are you saying you set the ride height on the a set measurement ? I though mine only went from normal to high? i will do some more investigations.

I may have to try that just to kick it up a bit more.

I must say i was really happy with the feel of the front and cornering as well. Cant wait to get it in the bush should make a hell of a difference.

I will keep you posted great to talk to some one with the same set up.

              Cheers

What year kak have you got Pete ?

We have a 2016 model and I have Spent a fair bit on time playing around with the rear hight.
So what i have worked out, the 2 hight sensors ( they are attached to the same mount as the rear resivore cannisters )
Control rear high but not really left to right as such. They had set my rear left half way up on the level adjustment and all the way on the Right.
I spaced the right side further out in an attempt to bring just the right side up but it did not Raise just the right more so the whole rear.
So I adjusted the rear left up to match the right and it seems to sit about 825ish on normal ride mode. From the shop it was 805 because they had set the left sensor half way on the adjustment as they assumed it would help with the right hand lean but I don't think it does I also felt this was not enough rake so I Adjusted the the left sensor up and now it sits at 825 in normal mode very happy woth that

So I found from a full tank to empty the rear will vary 15mm this was bringing the back down to 795ish on a full tank it was not enough for the adaptive suspension to self adjust so I would scroll through high mode back to normal and it would bring the back up to 805 and as the tanks emptys it would creek upto 820

Now I have adjusted the rear sensors it will sit 825 full tank and creep out to 840 empty. At any stage scroll though the hight modes it will reset to 825 or in your case 805

                  Hi PHS,

Sorry i haven't been back in touch been away and busy. Yes mine is the 2016 model also.

I will get in and check this this week, If i could get mine to that height id be really happy. When i have it set in the height mode on the dash it looks and rides great in 4WD. But as you know sets back to normal at 60km ph.
It sounds like you have put some time into it, so i will take your advice.

On the back it also seems a bit stiff along the road so i will back the tension off a little. Done some rough tracks today, and to say i am happy is an understatement. Once i get the rear ride height set correctly, i don't think i could ask for more?

So have you just added packing in theses or do they adjust up with other methods?

I was under the understanding that the airbags came with a block to fool the computer it was at the normal height but really had them up by 2 inch.

Hopefully i will get a chance to check this tomorrow.

Talk soon appreciate your advice thanks

                  Pete

Reviving an old thread I know, but hopefully it'll bring some joy to victorian members.

I just got off the phone with Yarra Valley 4wd in Healesville, they've successfully lifted two Kakadu's with an OME/Air bag man combo kit, using nitro shocks. The owners have been happy, some minor teething issues (with lean predominately) but seems to have resolved with some spacers up front. The very helpful guy I spoke to said it's definitely possible, not too sure about BP-51 gear due to some space constraints at the rear.

ROUGH figures are: ~$2-3000 for nitro shock kit, ~5000 for BP51. Depends on how the vehicle responds to the gear and how much labour it takes to get the thing level.

                    Great news!

On page 1 of this thread it states the rear should sit 30/40mm higher than the front. I adjusted my rear to sit an additional 28mm higher than standard (i.e 58 to 68mm high rake) as I read elsewhere this could be done with no issues (none so far in three years!). Is there a reason I should be lowering it again? We don’t have the same range of modifications in the U.K. to lift it as you do there! Thanks
