Does modular way mentioned in the second paragraph mean the samething as Land Rover does?

Yes, monocoque, unibody, modular etc. mean the same thing.

I spoke to the dealership yesterday and they confirmed there definitely is a facelift prado coming with greater tow capacity and weighs less no more info currently available however he said the info should be available from the 1st of July and would email me when info arrives.

2018 GXL will have leather option, most likely with electric seats as well. Safety Sense P standard on all models bar manual's. Petrol option deleted.

Thanks for backing me up, 3t towing has been guaranteed by toyota au. I am most curious as to how they can make a lighter vehicle in what is a facelift of the 150 series. Maybe aluminum components?

I look forward to reading the specs on that guarantee. Wondering what they'll do with the GCM and GVM. It'd be a real joke if they did not increase the GCM by a similar amount as the towing increase, otherwise it will just be an 'on paper' 3T towing limit - like the current generation utes.

The current model 150 has a 25kg penalty on the GCM already if you're towing to the maximum rating, not like the 120's had...

EDIT: TMC website confirms my GXL TD Auto has a 120kg penalty :<

The GX gains sat nav.

The GXL will gain Bi-LED headlights and DRL, the flash optitron meter from VX, rear diff lock, leather seat option pack with ventialtion, heating and electric adjustment.

The VX will lose KDSS but gain cool box and Kakadu features like multi terrain cameras, BSM RCTA safety stuff etc.

The Kakadu gets a drive mode selector.
