Is it worth having both front and rear or is just a rear diff lock good enough?
I have front and rear. lets you practically walk over obstacles with minimum stress on the vehicle, while other vehicles have to try different lines with more momentum each time, resulting in considerable wheel lift.
They are not cheap and you certainly do not have to get them. But, as I said minimum stress on the vehicle.
ive found the factory traction systems haven't let me down so far... but then again its not like im rock crawling or anything
2013 (12 build) GX Auto.......with safari snorkel, toyota bar, tow bar, roof racks, led spots with fancy newpro switchgear, uniden remote UHF and aerial, ARB bash plates, Roadsafe recovery points, digoptions radio, general grabber AT2s, cheap ebay roof rack that has stood up surprisingly well.....
It just comes down to what type of 4wding you are doing.
Beach or desert, probably not needed. High country or mud will definetly help.
Just need a be careful with a front locker. full lock on solid surfaces like rock will see a lot of stress on CVs.
