  • KDSS issues - 70mm out

    Guys

    Have been back to Toyota 3 times and they can't fix the lean on our 2014 Kakadu - at the moment its out 70mm and you can feel the lean sitting in the car. It's been with toyota engineers for 5 months and we still haven't had a response. Has anyone else had a response back form toyota where the KDSS is out this much?

    5 months waiting for a response is fairly excessive for a 70mm lean
    Is the suspension factory Std, was the lean noted during the warranty period ?

      That is huge.
      My VX was out by 20mm. This appeared to be the magic number, as Mr Toyota refused to deal with it unless it was over 20mm (this was back in 2012).
      In the end I added a spacer to one side and is now out by less than 3 mm. Cheap and easy fix compared to the hassle of arguing back and forth with Toyota.

        Mine (a 2009 model) was out by around 50mm on one corner and the local dealer was able to get it back to within 20mm which they told me is within factory spec. They had to bleed and reset the KDSS system which involves opening up the KDSS valves and some other jiggling of the Prado to redistribute the fluid in the system. They sent some sort of report off to Toyota about the height difference issue but I never heard anything back.

          Lifted?
          Accessories /weight added?
          What has been tried so far?

            Guys

            Lean is on drivers side - suspension is stock standard. Tried to do a lift but Toyota couldn't get it too work. Accessories ECB bullbar with Warn winch roof racks and new rims - problem was noted during the warranty period.

              Expand on trying to fit a lift. How much was it leaning before the lift? Did they remove the factory springs and shocks and refitted them? What are the coloured dots on the springs?

                Get details from your dealer when The lean was noted during warranty, Draft a formal letter to Toyota Australia highlighting the issues

                  It wasn't leaning before we attempted the lift - they removed the springs and shocks and refitted them - I'll check the coloured dots on the springs. Thanks to all

                      for those attempting to correct 15-20mm lift, suggest try the 200 video.

                      On the prado, it is located about halfway between both wheels on the left side chassis. Just undo the bolts for the cover plate and undo 3 turns and do the wood.

                      Probably try to correct it before doing any afermarket lift
