    All good news to hear.

    Not from FJ - but can see how big the ironman's are

      Hey all,

      I've made a few minor additions to the first x2 posts in the thread to clarify the coil selection options. Any questions just email me!

        Hey all,

        Due to the size of the current list, please note as of today I have added a $40 fee to recover the cost of the valve stacks/oil/shaft spacers/consumables etc.

        Currently the re-valve count for struts and shocks is up to 24.

        I will soon add some photos of the re-valving procedure as requested!

            Mark you should offer any locals the opportunity to assist in the revalving of their gear!

                  Thanks for the offer, but already got a cute little assistant!! I am also limited by stock in what I can get through quickly.

                    Hey all,

                    An update for everyone!

                    I know there are big time gaps in email communication, so please be aware that I am constrained by stock limitations, and when I'm not in touch for a while, it's because I'm either downstairs re-valving in my oily garage, or driving back and forth across Brisbane to get stock and parts/send gear/build struts etc.

                    I check my emails late every night, and I don't think I've missed a communication, but please lemme know if I do!

                    I am currently getting through batches of 3 sets (x12 struts and shocks), rather than the 5 sets I originally anticipated. I am picking up stock tomorrow for the 3rd batch of 3 vehicle sets, so I am also getting towards the end of my first batch of shims, which was 10 vehicles worth.

                    When I do get stock I am getting through it as quickly as I can.

                    I normally send quotes when I am halfway through re-valving a batch, so when I do send you a quote and you don't pay, then I will have to bump to the next person on the list, as I still have to pay for stock! If you have paid, please let me know so I don't accidentally bump you a place!

                    I know everyone is keen to get this suspension on their vehicles, but as I have said, it will take me a while to get through what is a long list and juggle stock limitations!

                    For those of you who have expressed interest in knowing more about the shock disassembly and re-valving procedure, I will try and organise a Brissy locals day and give you some hands on experience, but it will likely be after I have completed the group buy and I have more time!

                    Thanks to everyone for hanging in there!

                    Best from the Bris

                      Hey all,

                      An update from my garage!

                      I've had a couple of reports back in about how nicely the valving is going in FJ's and 150's, so it is great to hear it is transforming the 120/150/FJ family!

                      Also a quick tip;

                      If you don't get assembled struts from me, I would advise you to liberally lubricate the strut body threads and collars and coil seat with anti-sieze. This will allow you to do in-car height adjustment at full droop on jack stands. The only catch is the swaybar must be disconnected at links and chassis mount and strapped up and out of the way to allow the Ironman tool enough room to turn. It can be done, and height adjustment is quite simple. I went up 7mm in-situ on an FJ yesterday!

                      You will of course need the Ironman shock tool to do this adjustment. It is no problem if you prefer not to do it that way, but then you will require complete disassembly and removal.

                      Current strut and shock count stands at 32, more stock is on the way, so I will be sending quotes for numbers 6-9 on the list very soon!

                              Hey all,

                              Made it to 40 struts and shocks re-valved today. That is a small milestone, gets the first 10 on the list completed! Think I'll celebrate with a steak at the Norman on Thursday!

                              Few tips for everyone as well;

                              1. If you are getting adjustable length rear swaybar links, make sure to cut them down to suit a total length that is no more than 30mm longer than the OEM links.

                              2. The rear shocks come with shaft bumpstops. It's up to you if you want to use them. I currently run without mine around town, but I will likely cut them in half and use them for big trips as extra bump out protection. These bumpstops really come into play in the longer 4" and 6" versions of the 45682 shocks.

                              3. Getting the coil seat length correct for front struts. You will need to set your coil seat length anywhere from 205mm up to 220mm, dependent on vehicle and front accessories and your desired front ride height. Heavier 150's will need to be in the 215-220mm range, lighter FJ's and 120's in the 205-215mm range.

                              4. Use anti-sieze on the threaded section of the struts, and also the locking collars and coil seat. This will allow you to do in-situ height adjustment with the Ironman c-spanner, but note you will need to drop the swaybar off at the links and chassis mounts and strap it up out of the way to allow the large Ironman c-spanner to turn.

                              I have more front struts to get started on 11-15 on the list, but I'm waiting on rear shocks again, keep you all posted!

                                Good work and thanks Whitey!

                                Regarding anti-sieze which is best for an outback car? There is a Locktite marine grade which is good for water and washouts, is that the one to get?
