I'm planning to replace my coolant hoses before I embark on my next trip. The hoses have never been done and are starting to bulge around the hose clamp. Do I need to do the thermostat as well? Do These typically fail? I couldn't find anything to suggest that they're a problem item. The housing looks like a pain to remove because of its awkward position.
Also, do genuine thermostats come with the rubber ring that goes around the thermostat or is this a separate part number?
To do everything I understand that I need the follow:
1 x mackay hose kit including clamps
10L coolant
Thermostat (oring?)
Thermostat housing gasket.
Have I missed anything?
Thanks,
