You shouldn't get any smoke or noise but smell is definately noticeable if you take a whiff when it's doing a burn on the 1GD.

I thought yours fell off anyway Dave?
    Cheers

The only thing I notice is a rubber burning smell coming from the rear wheel arch.

I had the recall update done last week, the only difference I've noticed is the issues I had with the vehicle jumping around at about 62km/hr are back. When the gearbox update came out it seemed to resolve the issue( or at least minimize it) but now after this update it's bad again. Is it possible the update has reset the gearbox program back to original?

Ive wondered the same thing - when you say jumping around what do you mean?

Mine seems to feel like a surge/fuel pressure issue or perhaps even balance issue though I've had the tires balanced twice recently...

Before the gearbox update mine used to cough is best way to describe it, going on a uphill cornering ramp to a motorway at about 60km/hr-ish on light throttle it acts like someone is hitting the clutch in and out... even though it's an auto. It's right on the gear change area. It does also surge a little at the same speed when on cruise control on flat ground but not enough to bother me. It has rarely done it since the gearbox update was done but since this recall update it's back "coughing" up to 3 times going around the bend. I think I'll have to take it back in and make sure it hasn't reverted back to the old gearbox program somehow?

My auto seems pretty smooth now as I had the Auto update and the ECU at the same time. As for fuel economyClick image for larger version

I wouldn't think 30min of driving is enough to gauge economy

Hi guys, my VX 2015 has the ECM done on early July, the range is now showing 1440km after full tank fill (used to be around 1050km), local driving is 13.5L/100K, I've got ARB bull bar, roof rack and secondary battery. I'm noticing the DPF is now running more often and longer than previously. Is the 13.5L/100K normal?

                              ^ stock tyres ?
Our setup is much the same but also have a 2" lift.
Over the last 4 tanks ( no Fwy driving just local ) we are seeing about 11.6lts per 100
Yet to have the update done. Only ever use Bp ultimate diesel

I did a freeway run yesterday 100km/h mostly and some 80km/h areas. Fairly free flowing with roof racks. Just noticed as well my usage screen is different to everyone. I did have a firmware update done at my service recently. Might be worth asking if there is an update.

                                Thanks
