A question for you technically minded people. I have a 2005 1kz Diesel, and when my wife was coming home from work this afternoon the motor just cut out for no reason. Dash lights came on as they would before you start it when it happened, and after she coasted to the side of the road and stopped, it started right back up again. We've owned the car for 5 years, never had an issue with it and I service it every 5000K's (Oil & Filter), and change the Diesel and Air Filter every 10,000K's. Any ideas, or has anyone had this happen to theirs at all???

Need to pull the cel code(s) from the ecu if there are any. Similar symptoms to mine a while back ended up being the ecu (dtc18 spill control valve circuit)Silver '04 KZJ120~Manual~GXL~Dobinson/Kings lift~Custom valved Ironmans~Detroit Locker~Endless Air~X9 Superwinch~Madman EMS1~TJM Dual Battery~Rhino Roof Tray~120W solar panel~Foxwing awning~Bushskinz UVP~Long Ranger water tank~Bushman fridge~Steinbauer P-Box~Beaudesert 2 3/4"~Airtec Snorkel~TJM Sliders~Prico Boost Gauge~BFG-KO2s~TPMS~GME TX3420~Front and Rear Cameras~Ultimate Camper hanging off the back!

Over the last 15 years I've had a few 1KZ,s do this .
Generally the spill control valve on the pump either open circuits or shorts , and if it shorts it can blow the ECU . Replace the spill valve on the pump first if you are getting the spill code .
