  • What to Service at 195k kms

    Hello,

I bought a 2006 120 Petrol with 185k kms a couple of months ago. It pretty much had FSH for the last 8 or so years the previous owner had it and is in good nick. I changed the oil and filters when i bought it as a matter of course. It's done roughly another 7.5k since then and is doing the journey from Perth to Exmouth and back next week so i'll probably drop the oil and do the filters again before leaving.

Anyway, is there anything else not listed in the service booklet that I might want to do? I read that someone recommended replacing the O2 sensors when buying one with my kind of mileage, though this seems like an expensive measure for preventative maintenance. Surely if O2 sensors work, they work and don't need replacing until faults show up? Are there any other things to consider changing or checking that aren't detailed in the servicing schedule? ATF, coolant, brakes fluid were all changed was replaced a couple of years ago. I'm probably being over cautious but just thought i'd get some opinions because I want to keep it in good nick...

    Thanks

+1 on the wheel bearings one of my fronts was bad when purchased replaced under warranty.Check all tyres condition. Give your cooling system a good once over before a trip to Exmouth, I checked out my O2 sensors and they where reading in spec @ 177k (I used torquepro and some other app to monitor voltage temp etc), clean your MAF sensor. I have a 120 V6 great long distance car, especially overtaking.

        Cheers Hobes,

I'll give the MAF a clean. Which Bluetooth dongle do you have for working with TorquePro?

And do you know of any decent mechanics in the Perth area?

I do all mechanical stuff myself except tyres fitting/alignment and valve clearances.
MAF sensor clean will probably be on YouTube I like doing it and then disconnecting battery overnight for soft reset of ECU but thats just me.
