  • Prado 120 ABS flashing light

Hi Guys hope some can help me .

I got 2007 prado Glx v6 its got 330000 ks on it and its been the best car I have ever owned, always service on time and been really good to me .

from last one month , the ABS light flashes on the dash the first time I start the car , reverse the car from the driveway switch the car off and then on again the light goes away. dose that ever time I have to start the car the first time.

I took it to my mechanic he put the scanner on the car every single abs sensor warning light comes on (Only when the light is flashing) ,on the computer , he recommended me it will be the Abs pump module , I got that replace with new brake fluid with a full service to the car ..he checked all the sensor and told me the car is fine to drive and safe just start it twice to get rid of the light, even after the new pump is fitted it still dose it ..

then I took it to Toyota southport , they had the car for 4 days trying serval things replacing the brake booster seeing if thats was he issue but it wasn't , but still the stupid abs lights flashes every time I start the car the first time.. Toyota told me they have never seen this issue and told me the car is fine to drive and safe they have gone over it all must be a bad earth some ware.

Hoping some one can help me out on this as I have already spend a lot to get this issue ...

      What codes is it throwing?
Each item of the ABS will throw a different code.

        Hey,

Those front abs cables can be sensitive, any little stone strike or stretching of them during suspension work can cause hassles.

Just pull the top and bottom plugs and check the continuity on both sides, you'll need a helper to hold a probe up top while you hold at bottom, set your multimeter to beep.

If that isn't conclusive, try new abs cables, they're not super spenno. If that isn't it you've got more expensive problems to deal with!
