Hi All,
We have an ARB fridge, and I have made up a false floor style platform for our 150 (along the lines of others described in this forum) using plywood and tied down using the existing tie down points (ie. removing the tie downs and placing M6 bolts through).
Since we need one of our rear seats while touring I have made it L-shaped to allow the LHS seat to be used. This also means only 3 of the 4 tie downs can be used.
It has worked well enough, but now I've decided to make the fridge easier to access by installing a sliding platform.
My main worry is that I don't think the tie downs are sufficient. With the fridge slid out there will be a lot of cantilever force and I am worried that the platform will tip up, or maybe the whole seat will tip up.
Ideally I want to bolt down a bracket in the back, anchoring somewhere in between the 2nd and 3rd row seats. But I have not found a suitable bolt hole.
As I mentioned I need to retain the rear seats, and also the whole thing needs to come out between trips as it is also our main family car.
Has anyone solved this problem yet? If so what did you bolt your fridge slide / false floor down to?
I have searched and found a few references to various ideas (eg. using the rear hand holds?) but no pictures and could not visualize how it would work.
Thanks in advance
