Service/warranty question - how to approach issue with steering, handbrake & stereo

I stand corrected CamJam - that is surprising and perhaps because they were a multi-brand dealer. Toyo dealers wouldn't cop that methinks.

Had I not heard it myself I wouldn't believe it either. I've always gone along the lines of Toyota would back you all the way because they have such a brand to care about... but - and this would apply to all makes - sometimes you get the bad egg. FWIW, I was enquiring about the 7 minutes it took the dealer to give my car a 1000km free service, which they magically did without raising the bonnet (it was in my view the whole time). Hence the conversation, and where he - nicely enough - pointed out that no, he (at least) doesn't get money back from Toyota for these cheaper prices. It goes along the line of "this will help you shift more cars, so we're doing it, and you will then be able to sell more cars and service more cars". I get it, but it doesn't always work that way.
