Hi All,
I have recently become the owner of a 1998 GXL Prado that was owned by a terminally ill friend that can no longer drive so has sold it to me. It's a 5 speed manual 3.4 litre V6 on dual fuel (LPG/petrol) and has around 352,000km on the dial. Engine is quiet and seems strong. I got her at a good price so don't mind fixing the couple of small items that need doing on it.
I have several questions...but the one that brings me here this evening is around the leather 'boot' that covers the gear levers. The base seems to be dislodged from the console and I cannot seem to work out how to make it stay in place. I checked a mates Prado and it seems that it mounts from 'underneath' but mine has nothing that appears out hold it in place.
Is there a bracket or clips that hold it up against the plastic console?......I would attach a pic but seems this site doesn't like attaching photos.
Any help appreciated.
Rob.
