    I am going to be leaving my car (120 petrol Prado) and boat trailer at a public car park next to a boat ramp while we go sailing and looking at what measures I need to implement to have the best chance of having them both there on my return, 2 weeks later!
    At present I have;

    I have a top of the range (Sarcen) coupling lock to secure the boat trailer to the car,
    A steering wheel lock on the car.
    Quality wheel lock nuts on the car and boat trailer wheels.
    Heavy duty lock through two wheels of the trailer

    I'm assuming that this will convince the average lazy thief to look for an easier target. I was considering a car alarm but rejected because they are often just ignored now and few people would bother responding or intervening.

    I addition to the standard engine immobiliser, is there any modules or relays that I can remove and take with me to prevent the car from being started?

    Even this would not stop the whole lot being dragged onto a float and taken away for dissection in a more discreet location but then there is really only so much one can do.

    What additional measures would you take??

    Make sure your insured is the first one, that way if the worst happens at least your covered,
    Make sure you leave absolutely nothing of value in sight internally.
    Have you looked around to see if there is anywhere else you can leave it? Which area boat ramp in QLD?

    You could always go for an alarm that has a GPRS unit and pages or calls you if it activates if your really worried.
    If its a model with the HNL small gearstick, slip that into N..

      If you were putting in somewhere on the northside of the bay I would be happy to pick the car and trailer up and take it back to my place to store.
      This would be subject to availability or even dropping off a set of keys so I could get it later.
      Send me a pm msg if interested in this option, otherwise if Southside another member may do the same

        Thanks for that advice. Will check out the GPS tracking. Going to the Keppels and have found a secure storage yard. Not cheap at $15 per day but a lot cheaper than even paying the excess on insurance claim, let alone the stuff around. Cheers

          Hi Rags. Thanks for the kind offer, but heading further north.
