Got the rooftop tent on last night.
Hoping to get the awning on tonight and do a bit more work on the rear drawers.

Also did my first complete fill of fuel and so far it's averaging 10.7L/100km which is ok. Tent and future mods won't help it except for the exhaust I'm planning and possibly chip.

Alright, these were all done before xmas but I've been away in Tassie so haven't had time to post.

Drawer progress is very slow but got it to a point that was usable. ARB compressor mounted on the left hand side of the drawers so the point for connecting the tyre inflator is easily accessible.

      Close up of compressor

Had the dual battery monitor by Solidkit fitted. It's on the left hand side just under the steering wheel. In perfect view from a driving position. Neat little unit!

Dual USB charger by Solidkit fitted into centre console. Also switch for compressor fitted - wasn't too happy that the auto elec cut out the console to fit it without letting me know, would have used a different switch! But it works and isn't moving so I guess it's not too bad

Hoping to get my 80 series up for sale in the next week or two so once that's sold I'll have funds available for new wheels, tyres, lift, rear bar. Also considering exhaust, turbo upgrade (I feel the D4D lacks power), throttle control module. Also need to finish off drawers, change over the switches for my spotlights/light bar etc and more bits and pieces.

Hey mate, I've just ordered a Solidkit dual battery monitor and dual usb charger. What did the auto elec charge to install them? Might be easier than trying to do it myself.

        Cheers

Hard to tell because I got them installed at the same time as the compressor (which was a pain to fit). I would imagine ballpark $200 to do both of them.
If you've got some experience they're probably the easiest items to fit yourself. Dual battery monitor (if you want to keep it on all the time which I do) is just 2 wires for each battery - simple as that. Dual usb (again if you want it on all the time) is just 2 wires and a fuse.

            Ok cheers thanks for that.

I want them both to only be on when the car is on so I think they have to wired to an ignition source through a relay, no idea how to do that but might give it a shot.

Yep you'll have to run them off a relay. If you're willing to give it a go it's not too hard. Have a google of how to run accessories off a relay, there should be tonnes of info out there!
Just my 2c but I believe the dual battery monitor should always be on - that way you can check the status of your 2nd battery when the car is off. If you wire them up so they're only on when ignition is on, the monitor will only show the charging voltage of the batteries. I've heard of a few people wiring them up so they're always on, however with a switch as well so you can flick it off when not required.
              Hope that makes sense!

For the dual USB do you know if you have to run the black cable through the firewall and earth to the negative battery terminal or can you just earth it to a screw near the fuse panel in the driver side foot well?

Not 100% sure but I would imagine it would be fine to run to any bare metal.

                    Just a minor update.
Got my alternator voltage booster from LeighW today.
Simple 2 minute install (literally just pulling a fuse out and replacing). My voltage on when the engine is warm has gone from approx 13.6V up to approx 14.1V.
Saves me getting a DC to DC charger.

Been a while since updating here. Finally sold my old 80 series so have some money to throw at the Prado.
Booked in for later this week:
                      - 2" Lift (all Dobinsons)
                      - DEA 3" exhaust with cat and hot dog (no muffler)
                      - iDrive throttle controller

And just bought a pillar pod on eBay with 2 gauges - one does EGT & Boost, the other does Oil Pressure & Water Temp

Shortly after all that I'll be looking at getting new wheels and tyres. At the moment thinking Allied wheels and Toyo tyres but will see how I go

                        Update:

2" Lift In (Dobinson Shocks and Springs) - Fronts before 730mm, After 790mm. Back before 750mm, after 830mm. Lift got me 60mm at the front and 80mm at the back which I expect to settle a little. Back is purposefully higher rated springs as I'll be adding a rear bar on at some stage. Handles well and happy so far.

Exhaust in - 3" DEA with cat and hot dog. Happy with it. Feels a little bit smoother on acceleration. Sounds better for sure. Should give even better a result when I eventually chip and tune it.

iDrive in - haven't tested yet but will get to it soon.

Pillar pod dummy fitted - it's a SAAS pillar pod off eBay - required a little trimming with the dremel to get it fitting nicely. Fitting a dual EGT/Boost Gauge to one spot and a dual Oil Pressure/Water Temp gauge in the other spot. Going to keep it black as it matches the dash rather than try and match the trim. I have sprayed it Satin Black which is a better match to the dash colour than the gloss black it was. Will add more pics once gauges are in

Ordered myself a UHF and antenna package off eBay.
Decided to go with the Uniden UH8060S and an Axis 5dB antenna. Not sure how the cheap antenna will go so if I'm not happy will swap it out for an RFI at some stage.
This is the UHF - https://www.prestigecom.net.au/unide...scan-new-model
Will be mounting the unit in the little card holder in the glovebox like others have and then have an RJ45 blank plug on the left hand side of the steering wheel for the handset

Hoping this week to also get new wheels and tyres

Got myself new wheels and tyres yesterday.

                            Pro Comp Series 01 17x8 0 offset
                            Hankook RF10 All Terrains 285/70/17

Pretty happy! Minor scrubbing on the mudflaps only when turning so will have a look at them over the weekend and see if they can be modified, removed or replaced
