  • What's normal post cat o2 sensor voltage - V6?

So some may of seen my ongoing issues in my build thread.
After changing both my post cat o2 sensors tonight and driving it with the engine scanner plugged in I mainly read 0.7V. It moved a little but overall it was stable here (0.72-0.74v mainly). When you gave it no accelerator both drops to around 0.015v but then went straight back up again. It did this every time so figured it's normal as the fuel is cut for a short period (<1 sec). As the cats warmed up the voltage dropped on average a little sometimes.

    Is this normal?
Some pages say it should be under 0.5v all the time but it was rather generic. I know some vehicles have different "normal" voltages.
What is "normal" for the V6?

Side note: The precat voltages were "normal" at 3.2V which I found is normal for Toyota. Couldn't find post cat figures though.

There's a document somewhere on voltages when testing them. I'll see if I can find it.

Thanks Andrew. That makes me feel better. Hopefully this is the last of the issues.

Haven't got it on my laptop with me. But there is a Toyota document available online that shows you how to test them with a multimeter. Gives you the specs.

No. I reckon it might be some of the links in that document though. 05-241 or 246. Shows how to check with a multimeter instead of intelligent tester.

                Hi Bill.
Here is a pic from Torque pro, I found the post cat values could go from 0.2v off throttle to 0.9v full throttle but mostly around 0.5vish cruising at 60kmh, hope this helps mine are most likely original with 180k kms on clock (V6 petrol auto).

Good news is after a few days voltages are back to around 0.5v after warmed up at idle. Hopefully this is a sign it's fixed and we can start enjoying the car again.
