New full coated injectors will definately quieten it down

What was the injector feedback volume after the replacement?

Well, it's not the MAF sensor for me; I clean it regularly when I replace the air filter, and I just did it again. Cold knock is still there. Also replaced the oil - the sump screen (which I check each time) is also clean.

I'm a little worried based on what I read on this page of Bailey's website: "The Common Rail injectors fitted to 1KD engines are fairly problematic and can cause significant engine damage if left unattended. Most common failure mode is known as ‘cold knock’ which essentially sounds like there is a major fault with a bottom end bearing – only whilst cold.

Fault is caused by the spindle in the centre of the injector seizing / sticking when cold, which causes an excess of fuel to be inputted into the cylinder."

According to them, if the values are beyond +/-2.5mm3 / stroke cold or hot, that could be the problem. I'll get them checked, but if if my already-replaced Denso injectors, which only have about 70,000km on them (the car has 260,000 km on it) are out already, I won't be pleased.
