  • Spotlights mounting broken on Prado Genuine Alloy Bullbar

The Toyota Alloy Bullbar on my 150 has broken at the spot light mounting points. All that holds the spotlights in place ATM is the flimsy steel bracket under the alloy (as the alloy is cracked all around the LED spotlights base).

I noticed it when I was looking for a rattle as the spot light now make a quite a noise.

The Bullbar was damaged on a recent trip due to really bad corrugations.

I have seen one Prado with a heavy Alloy bracket that mounts behind and above the genuine Bullbar to mount large spotlights.

Does anybody know where you get this bracket form?

    Thanks

    Mike

Hi Mike, What year / model is it? I'm interested in how and where the bull bar was damaged? Do you mean besides from the headlight mount?

If you need a replacement bar, i am in Perth and am going to take my alloy bar off in January. Can give you a good price. It will suit a 2014 face lift and is in perfect condition.

Yowie, the Prado is an early 2013 model (pre-facelift). The spot light just broke away from the Bullbar (due to travelling on a badly corrugated road) breaking a piece out of the the alloy cross bar and flimsy steel bracket under the cross bar. I have since repaired the Bullbar and had it strengthen with a piece of 6mm bar welded underneath the cross member with some gussets to ensure it wont break again. I am also fitting a spotlights with bigger mounting feet. See the attached pictures.

          Josh,

Thanks for the offer of another Bullbar. I doubt it would fit as mine is a pre-facelift, plus I would need to get it strengthened for the spotlights anyway as I assume it's a similar light weight construction.

            Hey Mate,

Design is slightly different visually. Not sure about structural members underneath the bar.

              Hey Mate,

Design is slightly different visually. Not sure about structural members underneath the bar. I don't remember any steel brackets behind the bar but your fix looks better than original.
