  • Poor Performance

Hi, I'm having some issues with performance on my 2014 Prado as of yesterday, feels really sluggish.

I've tried disconnecting the battery to reset the computer, but that didn't fix it.

I've taken out the Mass Airflow Sensor to clean, but this doesn't seem to have made a massive difference.

Keen to know if anyone has any thoughts on what to try next.

It is booked in for a service on Friday so they might fix it, but I'm finding some series issues that make me unhappy with the last service - see my other post for that. I'd rather figure this issue out myself first.

    Cheers
    Iain

MAP sensor filter. Also try Turbo and DPF cleaner. It will make a difference if your vnt vains are gunked up.

Got them to check it out, it's the clutch is the problem, so turbo was kicking in but the clutch was slipping. Only 40K on the clock so not too happy about that. I've never had clutch problems on previous cars. Are Prado's prone to this?

Hmmm, never had this issue on my previous cars. I'll have to make sure that it is not something stupid like my foot resting on the clutch without me noticing, but as I said, never been a problem before.

It's very unusual for 40k. It should be pretty straight forward to work out the cause when they pull out the clutch, good luck.
