G'day folks, I have been trying to get my 2008 model diesel Prado upgraded to 3000kg towing capacity. There seems to be no problems for the 150 or 200 series. Does anyone know if anyone has managed to do this. I want to stay with my 2008 model as it appears to have more torque and a better driving range than the later models. I have been repeatedly asked at caravan parks what I have had done to the engine when I overtake other towers on inclines. Also the two standard 90 litre tanks are no longer available and are a godsend when towing in isolated areas. Thank you for your attention.

Hi Maurie, first post on this site and unfortunately I don't have your answer. I just wanted to say I'm also interested in this. I have been towing a race car with my 120 d4d (I'm right on the limit towing capacity wise) and after using the standard tow set up few times I soon upgraded to a pretty heavy duty Hayman Reece set up. The difference between the two is very noticeable although I couldn't tell you why. I guess its to do with the way they bolt the system up? The next thing I plan to do is upgrade the springs and shocks as they still seem a bit pedestrian and floaty. Surely that would take the capacity up a bit more than the standard 2500kg?

Maurie, I don't think it is possible in Q. Go out to TJM Brendale and ask for Justin, he will be able to give you a yes or no.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic
