  • Fitting Adventure Kings dirty gear bag

I have an Adventure Kings dirty gear bag. It has a second strap with buckle to connect behind the wheel. Presumably, the idea is that this runs below the attachment point and provides additional security against the bag coming off.

There are a couple of problems with this:

    1. The buckle won't fit between the spare and the rear door.

    2. Even if it did fit, how could you buckle it up behind the wheel?

I tried removing the plastic shield under the spare wheel but that did not help.

My thought now is to cut the extra strap off - no point in having it flapping loose and preventing the vertical straps from running vertically (the buckle means it is pulled to the side)

Before I head down that track, does anyone know if it is possible to fit these as built? And how?

    Cheers

    hey Chox,

i just had a look at a video of the bag attached and it seems that the second straps you mention go through the spokes of the wheel and not around the whole wheel, have a look i may be wrong

      Hi gympiebrowns

I watched that video again and I can't see the cross strap going through the spokes.

However, it did give me idea. I can force the two offending buckles on the cross strap behind the wheel coming from the top. With a bit of jiggling around, I pull the straps down far enough to allow me to join those buckles behind the wheel by reaching through the wheel spokes. Not quite as simple as the video makes it look but it works effectively and it certainly won't be going anywhere.

      Thanks for your help
