Last photos to be posted when I work out what I'm going to do.
I wouldn't be worried Gramps.. Carpeting is the easy bit... Just spray both surfaces and let them both sit for a couple of minutes to go tacky and then apply the carpet to the surface of the draws...

                • Yeah I do, but if you have a look through this thread you'll find Chippy supplied a diagram with measurements early on. I used this to the millimetre.
Carpet for mine this weekend, hopefully I'll be able to find a 'T' handle to finish it off.

I got my T handle from ebay, I think it cost me about $30 including postage, came from Brisbane from memory and only took 2-3 days to arrive. Just search "drop T handle" on ebay.

I got my 800 mm runners from Galvins as well and am very happy with them.

Here's the dimensions of the drawer unit itself. There's maybe 1 to 2 mm clearance remaining between the steel runners and the sides of the frame. Its enough to allow the drawer to move freely without rattling around loose.

I hope Chippy doesn't mind, but these are the dimensions I used Ian. Like I said before, I followed them to the mm and they are a perfect fit.

                          • Hi there, i started doing my drawers and i need some input So i cut the frame using mdf 18mm and started builidng the frame. In the meanwhile i have taken out the 2 plastic parallel strips that host the 4 anchor points, if thats what they are called If you take these out then you can use 8 14mm screws to hold the base in place.

Just wanted to know if that is a good option or might do some sort of damage on the chasis?

                            • Hey pambs,

how did you remove the 4 anchor points? I was thinking of doing something similar, but I don't know how to remove them.

Also, would a 14mm screw rip straight out over a big speed bump? Don't know how thick or thin that metal plate would be (where the anchor points are in).

I was thinking of getting a hose clamp, and tying those around the anchor point for the 3rd row seat and then up and over a cut out in the base of your drawer system... then you can tighten it as much as you can. To remove it, just unscrew that clamp and off you go. You'd put 4 in and I think that that would be extremely sturdy.

Good call or bad call? Anyone tried this?

                              • I used the anchor point bolt holes to mount my drawer and have not had any problems with it moving. I have driven on some pretty rough roads through the Flinders and Gammon ranges with the fridge and fridge slide on top and it hasn't moved.

I would imagine these botl holes need to be quite strong as they would need to hold the weight of the rear seat as well as the passenger in the event of an accident.
