Thanks Len, makes sense now, will do the same.

Well thanks to Samo for the plans, I have been in the garage today making a template to see how it all looks and apart from just rounding the edges I will be going with what Samo has. Just out of curiosity, I went to a laser cutter to see what a set would cost to make a set and was quoted $70 a set but they did mention if more sets were made it would bring the price down to around $30 a pair.

If is any one is tassie that wants a set just PM me for the details or if there is anyone on the norht island who might be interested just PM me also.

Well went a ordered three pair of recovery points as per Samo's drawing with a bit of a tweak. At $30 a pair, I couldn't buy the steel for that price. Will post pics next week when I pick them up. So once again, due to everyone helping everyone here on Pradopoint, things are so much easier to do without to much trial and error. 8)

Just had my fabrication guys make me some 2 bolt brackets from hardox 12mm.
Bloody beautiful. Thanks for the plans Golly, Samo and others.
Are you sure that the bottom hole in the chassis; ie: the one with the nut welded in....is a 12mm fine tread?
It just didn't feel right fedding it in.

            Anyone know please?

                Hi,

I have been unsuccessfully searching for months for off the shelf large (chassis braced) 3 hole front recovery points to suit my 120 series (MY2008) Prado. A friend recently told me about this pradopoint site. Fantastic information......should have started here a long time ago as it would have saved a lot of time and frustration.

I realise after reading all your posts that various sets have been made and fitted over the last year or so. I know this is a long shot, but if there was still a set of the large 3 hole front recovery points out there somewhere that anyone was prepared to sell then I am Very inerested. I'm located near Brisbane and would be happy to arrange/pay any postage.

                Any possibilities?

                Cheers,
                Paul

Well it has been far greater than a week but I have finally found the pictures of my recovery points so you all can have a look.

Template cut out to see how it all fits.

Three sets fresh from being cut and before adding colour.

                            Painted and ready to use.

At $30 a pair I think it was a good project and to do it with all the help from on here made it so much fun  .

                              cheers

                              • If anyone here can send me the drawings for the 3 bolt recovery plates as in violet's post please. I tried send violet a PM, but the inbox is full and will not accept anymore messages. I assume violet is not logging on here to check the pm's with probably numerous requests for the plates drawings.

                                Cheers,
