  • Snazzy compass & dashtop readout - wherecanwegeddit?

    In the never-ending quest for that extra accessory, have any of you ever come across this?

    Of course, I want one!

    Just wondering whether it will just drop into our local 120 series Prado & if so, how much $$ and where can we get one from? US/Japan by the looks of it?

    I did ask my local delaer in Fiji about this after i got my Prado. He told me that it has to be ordered at the time of putting in the order for the vehicle. Aparently the unit is connected to the Computer Board and needs to come as a factory option. I may be wrong but this is what i was told.

      Yes Mine have one like that

      I live in Dubai and I got my car in March 06 from the dealer and this "Field minitor" type as Toyota here calls it is available at the top model V6 and the one after that only.

      To be honest the best thing in it is the blue light, the information displayed are;
      -> outside temp.
      -> Clock
      -> Fuel consumption (averaged for the last 8 hours of driving)
      -> Remaining range with reming fuel
      -> You can also select to se the humidity, and altitude of the outside conditions (useful if you work with the meterology department)
      -> average speed across the last 24 hours of driving
      -======================
      I asked toyota if you can fit this and they replied that you have to have the central computer system avilable and get the central consule changed.

      In my opinion, buy the US/AUS model GPS,NAV and it shall be more usefull than this gizmo. (the outside temp., clock and fuel consumption is available from the standard dash)

      Sorry to take this long to answer - Cheers

        Thanks for your responses guys.

        Damn shame it is - because I rather fancied one, thinking it would just drop onto the top of the dash console.

        The information doesn't seem any different than what is already on the standard trip computer, but it looks great!

          Hey there, I have the same console in my car, it is nice but no biggie, all Pajeros have a simila and bigger display. I would trade it in for a Satnav unit any day :lol:
