That's a Brilliant Price, I got a set a while ago through a mate "at cost" and paid $275, about 2months before BCF started selling them for $279. Either money very well spent I reckon.

I though so... but I kinda miss the bright orange ones on the roof

I just went back and bought a set of the MkII from Supercheap.

I have seen people in this thread saying how the MkII can be used for bridging as they have higher longitudinal strength. On the instruction sheet that comes with them it states "DO NOT USE on hard/rocky ground, for bridging, as a ramp or below -10 degree C". Where did the idea they can be used for bridging come from?
Here's an un-official... but posted with permission video of the new Maxtrax being used to bridge an Earthcruiser at the Glasshouse Mtns.

The advise from Maxtrax is still the same as currently on the website but...
...if you NEED to get through an obstacle I'd be giving it a go

Oh, and btw... I have seen a video of a certain member of this site cracking the ripoff version with his hands

For those in Perth still considering these, I notice there's a guy in Morley WA advertising a new set for $150-. I don't know him but if I didn't already have a set, I reckon I'd be taking a close look for this price.

Here's what I think is the evolution of Maxtrax...

    {left to right} V1 MkI - V1 MkII - V2 MkI

    Version 1 MkI

    Version 1 MkII

    Version 2 MkI

Brad McCarthy is the owner & inventor of MAXTRAX. He also writes the Dirty Weekends guides.

He also has some pink ones (if your into that, or even makes a nice gift for the ladies).

If only they were V1's ... I'd consider picking up a set
I know Brad has some left at his warehouse... Maybe contact him through his website. I think he may even have some different colours available.
