$20 more because they are new, for the new design 'intellectual propertty, for a new strap that now comes with them and because nothing ever gets cheaper.

They are only a rip-off if you don't like the price. Clearly there is a market for them and I see them as excellent value for money even though I hope I never really need them (a bit like insurance).

If you don't like the price, don't buy them. Simple.

These Maxtrax are a total ripoff, $300 for a few KG of hard plastic! I get that when you are stuck on the beach they are invaluable but the resellers are taking advantage of this.
I'm surprised though that ARB don't have their own version with the ARB logo on for $599 (and some mugs would still buy them because of the logo)

The new MAXTRAX MK 2 will be available at Supercheap or BCF.

The new model can also be linked together to create a chain of MAXTRAX to avoid getting stuck in the first place.

Not that there's anything wrong with them though.

Saw an advert today in a WA 4wd mag for 4 matrax in a case with connectors and pegs, looked pretty smart. No price though.

You can get Maxtrax online (free shipping) from Discount Car Accessories

I have no affiliation with this business - just can confirm their prices from personal experience.

Picked up a set of the new ones from Brad the other day.
I got the Pilbara Red colour for something different... (I think that's what it's called)

$280 at ARB Stand at Caravan and Camping Show in Perth. Bought a pair, but hopefully won't have to use them!!!

I would pay a little more and get the product that is well known and supported.

I noticed the apology to one Aaron Schubert on the Claw Trax site so I had a bit of a hunt and found this.

Comments at the bottom of the page are interesting.

This company's scruples seem a little questionable. I guess it doesn't mean the product is no good though.

Yeah, they've been selling since 10 January. EBay shows 40 sold.
This company has received some bad reviews on other sites, mostly for cheap chinese machinery, mowers, gennies, water blasters etc.
Hard to see how you can go wrong with these unless the plastic is too thin or brittle.

    hmmmm...

These might be too new on the market for anyone to have had experience with them Steve. But, the plastic thickness looks good and they appear to have plenty of traction. Certainly a nicer price than Maxtrax, and especially given that there is no postage fee!

    Seriously considering some myself now...

Just noticed these on Fleabay. Another Maxtrax knock off.

Anyone have any experience with these? Price is right.
