Yep, that would be me who's trying to do that. I also have a thread on 4WD Action forum as well for those interested. At this stage it's just expressions of interest from serious folks to see how many numbers we can get and then approaching the venodr to see if they are able to offer us.

And not much cheaper at all then real maxtrax. I Personally wouldn't bother with these. Although, maybe they are aiming at catching people unaware thinking these are the real deal

Was browsing through fleabay and found a seller selling Maxtrax knockoffs in Melbourne.
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/All-Terrain-Trax ... 1e5c9d61b0

Very similar in design but the central part is a different moulding.

Was just in my local ARB here in Tassie and they now have Maxtrax there but their price is $309  . Might need to contact discount car accessories as they seem to be the best price at the moment.

    Re: Maxtrax

While I was up on Cape York we took the Old Lockhart Mission Track. We left in the AM and when we came back at about 19:00 there was a truck stuck in one of the water crossings. He was working for a constuction company and was going after some equipment down the track and only had road tyres on his Hi Lux. He attempted a hand winch, but was unable to get out. We pulled out the MAXTRAX and got him out easily. After he got on the track he told us that he was there for 5 hours and was preparing to sleep in the truck.

On the trip we used the MAXTRAX over 20 times and only used a winch on a dead vehicle after it was flooded out in the Pasco River on the Frenchmans Track.

Just noticed their price is now $269 .....still much better than most and not much of a price increase and still free shipping.

They were pretty quick and have to say packaged everything up very well...great service

    Re: Maxtrax

Hi, just picked up a set of maxtrax, just a couple of pictures of how i secured them to the roof rack,

used a few off cuts of 40 x 2.5mm galv flatbar, bent to make hooks that go under the lip on the roof rack and locked together with adjustable over centre catches, i have glued rubber under the flatbar and also have a piece of rubber under the maxtrax. the catches have a place to add a padlock to stop the honest people.

    Cheers Andrew
