  • I wonder how much maxtrax go for on the 2nd hand market. I mean... I'm thinking of getting rid of a set (version 1). Used it over a day trip... they're in great condition, zero damage. Any ideas?

    • Hi William. I had a set of the old type and put them on ebay when I bought the new ones they went for about $2151-220 cant remember the exact amount which surprised me as i had bought the new ones from SC in a 20% off sale for $236. This was when the new ones had only just come out so there was less awareness that there was a new model out.

Probably anyone looking for them now would definitely know there is an older and newer type. I started the bidding at 0.99 cents and just watched them. Ebay has surprised me several times in achieving prices I wouldn't have listed them for in a classified.

      Cheers

      • I paid $250 for an unused but second hand set of the older style so I had 4 that matched, I was happy with that price as living in the bush I miss all the sales at SCA and the like, I actually had to pay more than retail for the first set I bought ($305) but I will never buy anything from tha store again!

        Cheers Andrew

        • I have an unused pair of the new style that I would part with for a reasonable offer.

                  • Spied the last set of MaxTrax on the shelf at Rays Outdoors today. I have a set already and I know if I came home with a second set I would now be a single man!!! (Mmmmmm????.....Na to expensive!) I rang a mate who hasn't got a pair and well, he does now. The set on the shelf wasn't in the box and asked a staffer if he had the lanyard and CD that came with it. He hunted hi & low without success. I said don't worry, it's such a good price, all is good. He then popped out the back returning with a small set of ratchet type straps that were out of their box and threw in a set of MaxTrax mounting Pins. (must of been the manager)

Gotta be happy with that! ( I'll be keeping the extras though for my finders fee )

Had to shut my mouth Dave. Your better have asked where to get them etc etc and then told me not to tell you! Talkabout conflict! She saying that on one hand and you saying you were gearing her up to get you a set. LMAO.

Now, note to self, don't tell Dave what he is getting for Easter!

                        • I picked up a set from BCF today for the same price as Ray's ($216). I didn't want to drive to Ray's plus I had BCF gift cards to use. Asked the sale girl to price match - 1 quick call to confirm price and I was on my way.

One to keep in mind if your BCF store is closer than Ray's, I assume it would work both ways.

                          Happy shopping

                          • $216?

That is cheaper than my wholesale buy price.

                            Lovely that is.

                            • They proved popular, when I went into the Brisbane rays stores first thing on the boxing day sale , there were about 6 sets at each store. They went fast and a great buy for the price.

I assume MLC has the 1140mm bars and if he wants to get a Rhino alloy tray which comes in at 1105mm, then it leaves bugger all room for anything at the side of the tray for anything.
