    Wishing I was lost

Without the costs of RnD, engineering, product testing and associated costs of producing a quality product I'm sure the costs would be closer to $165 per pair.

BUT, I know what Brad goes through to produce a quality product that will do what it's designed to do and the cost involved in producing the product in Australia that I think $299 is a bloody good RRP.

BTW... if you buy the ebay copies... better get in for a refund because they have already been informed they are in breach of the AU Patent Maxtrax has.

Especially since $165 is a lot closer to what they realistically should cost.

"Realistically" if they were made in China with inferior materials, and design! I believe that Maxtrax are well and truly worth their current RRP.(managing to score a bargain for $165 just makes the purchase soooo much sweeter )

I brought a pair just before going to Fraser with my Kia Sportage towing a camper trailer. It was worth while insurace for a quick getaway should we get bogged. The weather was wet and the sand remained firm and all the traxx did was collect rainwater on the roof of the car then dispense that water onto me when I took them off the roof! I guess it would have been different in hot dry sand on the Island or kicking around some mud holes.

Maybe I'll get to use them on the next trip...

That is a good price however when Ray's Outdoors have their 26.5% sale, you can get them for around $217. Only problem is they don't seem to stock a lot so you need to get there early
    Cheers................wayne

The last trip I did, I have somehow ripped off one of the large 6 lugs that are on the outside of the Trax. Don't know how, but I did have to dig 3 foot of mud just to fish up the Trax when I was finally recovered. They still work fine though, so no dramas there. Just wanted to know if I am the only one to damage one?

    Cheers.

I had a rather intense experience at a place called salt creek. Basically buried to Prado and trailer up to both bellies. After what seemed to be forever, my rig was recovered and then the trailer. The Maxies were given a serious workout and are basically as smooth as a babies bum, BUT STILL WORK!! They are now semi retired as the second set with a new set yet to be christened. By the way, I am hoping to win one of the two sponsor donated sets of multicam at the GTG, however if I don't then it is likely I will buy a third set for the camper. Th best thing I ever did was get rid of the ranger tracks and get onto the matrax.

Yeah I will take a photo tonight. I mean the lug is not there anymore, just a hole. It has ripped clean off.

Show us a pic of the damage Hibbo... When you say "ripped off a lug", do you mean torn off? or was it worn down by excessive tyre spinning?. I have a few worn lugs on mine where my tyres haven't been able to grab traction on the Maxtrax due to improper placement and has burnt some of the lugs off. Having crap tyres with virtually no decent tread didn't help either...

Thats okay, Adam, you can win the first set and we'll win the 2nd set along with a set of the Multicam MaxTrax (goodness knows we're definitely going to need to win the MaxTrax for Beachport or else we might be in a spot of bother err... sand)
