Well, having been the one who restarted this whole discussion, I figure it's my responsibility. So I have ordered a set and hopefully they will arrive by Friday. Heading to Straddie on Saturday. Only ever been stuck once over there requiring a tow so it will be interesting to see if they get any work. (if they arrive)

Can always write it off as R&D.

    Will let you know.

I see BCF have the old style on offer for $275 a pair but this includes a bonus set of mounting pins (worth $26.99). A friend of mine has just bought a set. Spotted the one problem though - the mounting pins are keyed for the new style Maxtrax where the old style have a round hole. He will have to get the Dremel out to cut keyways in the Maxtrax to fit

I must say, I am tempted to get a set myself - the offer is on till 23rd April or until they sell out I guess.

Doesn't that become and Issue for BCF to sort out then?? They sold the two products as a pair and they don't match up? Maybe they can 'replace' them with the MKII
        Diesel Prado with various things...

Supercheap Auto is also flogging them for $275, but they are the MKII by the looks.

More importantly though, flick to page 2 of their Easter catalogue and have a look at the promo photo they have used. Looks familiar...

Not sure if this is Oz wide, but it is in the WA one.

Just been into Supercheap and yes, it is the mkII. Also found out Supercheap and BCF are the same company - didn't know that.

There you go, learn something new everyday. I Googled and found that Ray's Outdoors also belong to the Super Retail Group.

They did mention Ray's as well.

I just went back and bought a set of the MkII from Supercheap.

I have seen people in this thread saying how the MkII can be used for bridging as they have higher longitudinal strength. On the instruction sheet that comes with them it states "DO NOT USE on hard/rocky ground, for bridging, as a ramp or below -10 degree C". Where did the idea they can be used for bridging come from?

Got mine from BCF thursday and they have the correct holes for the pins, does that mean I got Mk11's ?

Sounds like you were lucky and have the MkII You can easily tell - the MkII has three lonitudinal braces and the MkI has two with raised cones in between.
