  • Tracklander flat 3/4 rack

    Gday everyone,
I've been trying to decide on a flat roofrack to suit my camping needs and still be user friendly around town. So far I've narrowed it down to the Tracklander 3/4 length Ali rack as my preferred choice. Has anyone here already fitted this rack to their 120 and got any positive or regative feedback for me. Or any other advice or recommendations for flat roof racks would be awesome.
    Cheers

The gold standard for these types of racks seem to be the rhino rack pioneer platform, it's what I intend to fit to my vehicle when Gumtree permits and what a lot of others on here have.

Yeah I do like the Pioneer racks, but I'm happier with the size of the 3/4 Tracklander, plus the mesh suits my needs a bit better. A tad cheaper too which is another positive.

I have a Tracklander rack, info in my build in my signature I have to modify it into a quasi Tradesman rack due to a visitor with poor vision, lousy spatial awareness or something else along thise lines. But that is another story.

I use roof bars rather than direct to the roof, I know this costs me 20kg but the rack isn't on all the time. While the Tracklander is expensive the quality is superb. I usually have the 160W solar panel, shovel, axe and awning up there and use it to carry the kayaks when we are towing the camper.

The Pioneer is cost effective but much heavier. Popular doesn't make it the gold standard though, I was fairly unimpressed by the Pioneer compared to the Tracklander.

I went with the 3/4 Flat Tracklander about 6 months ago and I could not be happier. Sits back far enough from the windscreen that there is basically no additional wind noise post install. It’s still plenty big enough for my needs, and looks a lot neater in the roof than some of the longer and wider options out there
