  • Best place to mount the control knob for Tow Pro Elite in 120 Prado?

About to get the Tow Pro Elite v3 installed in our 120 Prado to get set up for towing a caravan.

I've seen some different mounting locations for the control knob and just wondering what everyone's found to be the best location for your use? In one of the blanks on the right side of the steering wheel? Left side? On the centre console near the gear shift level?

Any pros/cons either way? We're new to towing a van, so appreciate any input. Thanks!

I'm not sure of the layout of 120 Series, but advice is that if possible, have the brake controller on the left of the driver.
This offers a possible chance for the passenger to activate the trailer brake in an emergency if the driver cannot, because they may be really busy trying to control the rig.
Sometimes space available behind the dash may dictate the location.

That seems like great advice. I was thinking it would be really convenient to have it mounted on the centre console, just near the gear shift lever. Easy reach of both driver & passenger.

Has anyone mounted it there, and any issues to be aware of under the console?

Edit: Post deleted after checking the controller's manual.

I have just had one put in, used the same location with the same idea, that the passenger could also reach it...

Finally got it installed. We used one of the blanks (the large square one) on the left side of the steering wheel. Passenger can reach it in a pinch, and easy enough for me. Thanks all!
