  • ABS Light flashing

    Hi everyone,

The ABS light in my 120 comes on when doing its self check then starts flashing. If I turn the key off then back on & let it do it's thing again it goes out and stays out. Have had the car back to Toyota to check it out but they can't find anything wrong. Has anybody else had the same problem?

    Thanks

    Matt.

    Hi Matt

I seem to have the same problem. After the self test the ABS and VSC/TSC lamps start flashing and when ignition turned off and back on they retest ok. Mainly happens when vehicle cold but can happen during day if been standing for sometime.

    Cheers

Check alignment on the abs sensors on each wheel.
Check no mud or gunk in the abs slots.
Check plugs on abs cabling ok.
Check for stone damage on abs sensors cable.

All can create an intermittent issue.

Also be aware that ABS does not work when the light is flashing.

theres also a little sensor under centre consol just behind gear sticks, check the plug, mine had a similar problem and tried it first and it fixed it. .
