  • Bleeding Brakes using the Vacuum Method on a 2008 Prado with Stability Control

Is it OK to Vacuum Bleed the brakes on my 2008 Prado GXL o
r must I follow the procedure in the manual?
    ?
It has ESC ABS and HDC.
By Vacuum bleeding I mean attaching a vacuum bleeding kit to each Calliper nipple in turn and sucking the brake fluid through instead of Ignition on and letting the system pump fluid through.
If I can safely do this its easier doing it myself (one person) rather than having a second person operating the brake pedal.

I'd follow the manual. Ignition on way is the easiest, I put a vacuum bleeder on mine and switch ignition on to also pump thru, way faster. The Vacuum on its on struggled to really suck it thru before the Ignition and ABS pump went on. Then it took like 4 mins to do the whole car. Replaced all the fluid.

Thanks Piggy - does someone need to press the Brake pedal as well, to start the fluid pumping?

The pump will start automatically as you crack the nipple.
