Solid pinion spacer for rear diff, pros and cons...

So I know the pro's, stronger driveline, less room for flexing of the pinion ect...

and ive booked it in to get installed with a rear locker next month but it never occoured to me what the negatives (if any) might be, does anyone know of any??? extra stress on CV's maybe??

There's no CV's at the rear. Do you mean Universal joints? They would be fine. It's suspension lift that puts added stress on the uni's.

The main con I can see is the hideous cost involved. I would be getting a diff specialist to do it. I wouldn't be getting the nearest ARB to be adjusting the pinion preload.

ok, cool, Thanks for the reply williade. I am getting a diff specialist to fit both the locker and pinion spacer.

ARB said they would do it but they had never done it before so stuff that!

Also im going with the TJM prolocker, I think its a slightly better & stronger unit.

Make sure you get a master seal kit installed... replace every seal and bearing in the diff, otherwise you may get a leak down the track and I can tell you it's expensive to keep getting the diff pulled out!
