Yeah a bearing kit is a couple hundred bucks. As Ill be away the guys doing it will open her up and inspect everything before commencing install to see if anything needs attention. Im pretty confident they will do the righty with the install. He use to be a distruibuter and fitter of the ARB stuff and straight off the bat let me know why the air lockers were having trouble sealing with the design etc etc. The labour isnt cheap but doing a price comparo with driving her to perth for the work wont save me anything.

The guy who also supplied the lockers from perth also recommended the Harrops compared the the air locker setup. Horses for courses I guess, ive never had a locked 4WD before just locked commodore diffs and that was a whole differnt need and ball game

Haha, I might have to get you to pick up the car from the mechanic instead of the missus!

Ok you can't leave that one hanging. Were the locked diffs in a Commodore? And the ah..."need" for such a beast?

                Enquiring minds and all that.

Sorry, should have said several commodores! Have been modding cars for years and started off with a VR, supercharged 6 VX then VY SS ute before ending up with the Prado. Messed around with the diff gears, mini spools and welded single kickers on mine and other cars when we were all a bit younger. Apart from the diff gear changes (3.9's in the 6 speed 5.7 and the 3.7's in the super 6 auto were the best bang for buck mods) the rest make the car less capable. No good in the wet/ slippery road and killed tyres and driveline. Kinda the opposite when we put them in 4WD's to make traction instead of loosing it.

                  Cheers,

So has anyone that installed these E-Lockers had any problems yet or are they working well? better than ARB air lockers?

                    Cheers
