Not sure if this is in right section but we'll see

So the 120 has been doing this thing quite regularly where it's gutless/almost zero throttle response first thing in the morning... but only in drive.
In neutral before going anywhere it revs fine. In reverse it's as responsive as expected. But once on the road and shifted into drive there's little action. Sometimes I'm 2 houses down the street before it's comes good sometimes it's 10 metres. It'd be something just above idle and moving then it comes good.
Some days I'd think it's throttle position sensor, some days I'd think it's a ridiculously huge flat spot. But the uniqueness of it being only once in drive and only early/first drive in morning has me stumped. It doesn't "chug" as if it's stuck in top gear, like in a manual, it's just little to no response.
I'm kind of leaning towards a valve body/ transmission control kind of issue, or communication between gear selection and ecu... but just not sure.
Anyone else experienced this or something similar
Cheers
